About Us

Bottom Line Consulting, LLC (BLC) was founded by brothers-in-law, Sheldon Johnson and Kent Wilson.  The idea of starting a medical billing service was born out of discussions with family members and friends who led independent medical practices.  We heard many stories how it was becoming increasingly difficult to stay profitable as a small medical practice. Common complaints cited lower insurance payments, rising overhead expenses and high levels of administrative requirements.  As we began helping some of our friends practices, we soon realized that we were able to significantly improve the profitability of these medical practices. We introduced new processes that focused on streamlining administrative activities while simultaneously improving the accuracy of patient information. This directly led to capturing higher levels of payable claims from insurance providers. The bottom line is that we were able to improve the profitability of these medical practices in a meaningful way. 


We realized that our 20+ years of business experience in the Financial and Marketing disciplines were part of the critical skills required to successfully transform our friends' practices and improve their profitability.  As we researched the medical practice industry we observed at trends of hospitals buying independent medical practices at a very high rate. We launched Bottom Line Consulting, LLC with the specific objective of assisting independent medical practices to improve their profitability so they can remain independent.

Kent Wilson has 25+ years experience in successfully leading business results for large organizations such as Kraft Foods, Cadbury Schweppes and Darden Restaurants.  Each of these businesses reached their peak profitability during Kent’s tenure as its business leader. Kent has also successfully launched multiple businesses as an entrepreneur.  Kent has a history of helping businesses focus on its core strengths and making adjustments that focus on improving its position in the marketplace which result in delivering improved profitability.

Sheldon Johnson 

During his career Sheldon completed $300 million of corporate acquisition transactions as part of Wells Fargo & Company. Further, he has sourced growth opportunities as a business development executive in the financial services industry for firms including Deloitte and global investment bank Houlihan Lokey.  As an entrepreneur, Sheldon led a fulfillment company for 10 years. While at this company he launched a new service that grew to become the company’s largest revenue source and implemented changes to operations that increased profitability.
